Millennium Room, Carriageworks Theatre, The Electric Press, Millennium Square, Leeds LS2 3AD

A breakfast briefing for members of the business community in Leeds (organisations with 50+ employees) that will provide an opportunity to contribute to shaping the City’s new Waste Strategy,

Join Cllr Judith Blake, Leader of Leeds City Council, and James Rogers, Director of Communities and Environment, to share your perspective on waste and recycling in the city. The breakfast meeting will explore the challenges businesses face and establish what influences business owners have with customers, employees and their own waste practices to take full advantage of money saving opportunities.

Leeds business and industry produce an estimated 320,000 tonnes of waste per year. In developing a new strategy, Leeds has the opportunity to harness local innovation, increase public awareness and appetite for action on waste, create positive change locally and influence national strategic decision-making.

Environmental charity Hubbub, who are leading the city centre recycling campaign #LeedsByExample, will be presenting the results of a business waste survey and exploring how businesses could collaborate to tackle this issue.
