The Priestley Lecture. From Climate Science to Climate Action?

Thursday, 28 November, 2019 - 19:00 to 20:00
The Leeds Library, 18 Commercial Street, Leeds LS1 6AL

Speaker: Professor Piers Forster, Director, Priestley International Centre for Climate, University of Leeds

The impact of climate change on society and ecosystems is a global challenge and in response to this problem, the University of Leeds opened the Priestley International Centre for Climate in 2016. By building collaborations across a range of disciplines and expertise, the Centre aims to build practical solutions to a problem that concerns us all.

Professor Piers Forster, who is a lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and a member of the national Committee on Climate Change, will explore how science influences international negotiations, national legislation and climate action.

Doors open 6.30pm. This is a free event but pre-booking is essential.
